Your Cat Purrs Around You
Pleasing purrs are one of the most common ways for cats to express their affection. However, they can also purr when they’re ill or in pain. It’s best to consider purrs on a situation-by-situation basis. Curled up and getting petted? Likely pleased and happy. Suffering from a UTI and peeing a lot? Probably not content.
They Act Like Your Shadow
Cats will follow their humans as a sign of affection. It means they want to be around you. Cats aren’t quite as social or as in-your-face as dogs are. Dogs are pack animals, and cats are a bit more individualistic, but following you means they want to keep their eyes on you and have a fondness for you.
They may also choose to greet you or wait near the door for your return. This is considered a sign that they want to be around you.
